Last Thursday night, witnessed the legalization of the dismantling of the June 30th regime and the removal of empowerment and public order in the first joint session of the Councils of Sovereignty and Ministers, in a historic night added to the days and nights of the December Revolution. The passing of the law, came at a time when the Sudanese people are calling for action and practical steps against the NCP, which they see as a threat to the transitional period.
In a related development, the Secretary General of the Revolutionary Front, JEM Chairman Dr. Jibril Ibrahim had said before the historic meeting of the Councils of Sovereignty and Ministers that if early elections were held in the presence of the National Congress, the NCP would definitely win again.
On his part, the National Umma Party, which was overthrown by the Salvation Party in 1989, welcomed the dismantling of the June 30th regime and the removal of empowerment in 2019.He said in a statement that the National Congress, with its money, weapons and capabilities, is the biggest threat to stability in the country. The dismantling law is a fundamental issue in the way of achieving the goals of the glorious December Revolution. It’s worth mentioning that , last July, within the framework of the National Salvation Matrix , Umma party, presented to the Council of Sovereignty and the Ministers a draft of dismantling the hidden state and the parallel one, indicating that the matrix included a demand to issue a law in this regard and to reform all laws enacted to empower the ousted regime, adding that after the issuance of this law, the National Umma Party highly appreciates the joint meeting of the Councils of Sovereignty and Ministers for passing the said law under Article (25) of the constitutional document.
Moreover, the Umma party, noted the need to apply the law in a transparent and fair manner to ensure that each suspect is tried before his/her natural judge in a way that preserves all his/her constitutional and legal rights. Meanwhile, the said party has called for reviewing all laws and legislation related to empowerment of the toppled regime.
The Umma Party scoffed at the denunciation of some of the leaders of the National Congress, saying that they forgot everything they did to the homeland and the citizens, and what they practiced to empower their coup state.
Meanwhile, the forces of national consensus considered the law of dismantling the regime of June 30 as a revolutionary decision aimed to regain the right of martyrs who had dreamed of state of rule of law, the FNC added in a statement that the “struggle will continues and the rest of the revolution continues in all respects, saying that implementation of the law depends on the mechanism of state institutions, a matter that we praise and ask for in the state of institutions. but the masses and revolutionaries have a complementary and even essential role to follow up, monitor and identify the employees of the former regime and adherents of the ideology of error, and through our resistance committees and our field leadership we can do the greatest role to make the law enforcement a success.
The statement said that, the day of the issuance of the law was a historic day and the post-revolutionary government of the transitional government takes its decision to adopt the law of dismantling the regime of June 30, 1989, and to end the direct and indirect control of the Islamists on the political, economic, social, military, and judicial branches of our country.
The Sudanese Congress Party said that, the passing of the law and dismantling of the regime of June 30, 1989 and the removal of empowerment, have led to the dissolution of National Congress Party. The law gave the committee a right to dismantle the regime of June 30, 1989, wide powers to dissolve trade unions, party fronts and organizations. The SCP added that, the Sovereignty and Ministers council should restructure state agencies, especially with regard to the termination of the service of persons who have obtained the civil service through empowerment, or used it for the purposes of empowering the regime of June 30th. The SCP expected to start practical steps immediately to implement the provisions of the law and the policies of the transitional government in this regard.
Meanwhile, the National Congress party responded by rejecting the resolution and declared its opposition to it by all means. Party leader, Ibrahim Ghandour said in his first comment after the law was passed , saying that his party would abandon the supportive initiative that the party put forward for stability and transition of the country in full harmony. Ghandour added that, “after revenge, exclusion, counter-empowerment and seeking to prevent us from our rights guaranteed by international and regional human rights laws and conventions, we affirm that, we are opposed to this government until it is upright, and put the interest of the people in mind , or the people regain their revolution with the objectives for which it came out, not for the sake of those who want to erase the constants of religion and the values and morals of public life”.

Ghandour said that, No force can stop the National Congress Party from practicing its political rights in Sudan, but the Sudanese people responded to Ghandour in an opinion poll conducted by Al-Jazeera Mubasher Satellite TV about the law, where about 70 thousand people took part in the poll. The result was 84% agree with the law while 16% disagree.
