The Sudanese Transitional Govt and the Revolutionary Front – (Darfur
Track ) – signed, today Saturday, 28.12.2019 at the headquarters of
negotiations in Juba, framework agreement that defines the principles
of negotiation and encompasses a number of national and state issues,
especially the status of Darfur during the transitional period.
The framework agreement was signed by the head of the government
negotiating team Shamsuddin Kabashi, the representatives of the four
groups from Darfur and the South Sudanese chief mediator Tut
Gatluak.
The head of mediation team , Tut Gatluaak, Adviser to President Salva
Kiir Mayardit on security affairs, said in a press statement, “the
agreement confirms that peace negotiations are proceeding on the
right track, and the stability of Sudan represents stability for southern
Sudan”.
On his part, member of the government negotiating team, Lieutenant
General Shamsuddin Kabashi, affirmed the intention of all parties to
reach a comprehensive peace.
In the same context, the leader of Justice and Equality Movement,
Ahmed Tugod , said that the negotiations this time around were
different from previous times, praising the signing of the agreement of
principles.
It is worth noting that the deal was signed by four movements, the
most prominent of which is Justice and Equality movement led by

Gabriel Ibrahim and the Sudan Liberation Movement of Meni Arko
Minawi.
