March 7, 2020 (Nyala) The governor of South Darfur, Major General Hashim Khaled Mahmoud, said given the fact that state of South Darfur is sharing borders with the insecure republic of Southern Sudan and Central African Republic, It has been negatively affected by what is happening in these two countries.
The Sudanese Sovereign Council had decided in a meeting in the city of Nyala, South darfur, last September to close the borders of the Darfur region with the neighboring countries -Central African Republic , South Sudan, Libya and Chad countries.
Addressing the third conference of bloody sepsis, Friday in Nyala, South Darfur, Hashim Khalid Mahmoud said in light of the current economic conditions in Sudan , a lot of the Sudanese people cross to the boarder heading to two countries.
” The Armed forces and the health casres are working 24/7 to scure the boarder” added Hashim Khalid.
The governor of South Darfur said in a previous statement that the armed forces and rapid support forces RSF would deploy a large forces along the borders with the two countries to stop the smuggling of consumer goods “flour, sugar and fuel” and the entry of weapons or unregulated cars to the state.
