March 20, 2020 (Nyala) The Ministry of Health in South Darfur state  has  decided to close all medical clinics in the city of Nyala, and  prevent handshaking between the workers in the ministry.

However, the Director General of the Ministry, Dr. Mohamed Idris, held a meeting that brought together all the state’s medical doctors, who were informed of the decision and the measures taken by the Ministry to prevent entry of Coronavirus pandemic  into the state of South Darfur.

Dr. Mohamed Idris stated  that the Ministry had decided to close down private clinics in the city, and to stop referring patients to government and private hospitals.

In a related development, the State  ministry of health  affirmed that no case of infection was recorded in the state, at a time when the state government deployed 100  vehicles with joint forces from the army and  rapid support forces, a long the borders with Chad, Central African Republic  and South Sudan   to prevent  entry of any people from those countries.
