April  4, 2020 (Juba) Darfur24 sources have revealed  that  about 35  contentious points that are still pending in the negotiation file between the transitional government and the revolutionary front Forces RFF, most notably are  the demands of  Darfur movements by 30% of the federal ministries, and the  seats in the Legislative Council,  provided that the speaker of the council is to be  chosen by  Darfur peace signatories.

It’s worthmentioning, that the Sudanese government and armed struggle movements   suspended their negotiation last week, at the request of South Sudan mediation team, following the sudden death of Sudan’s defence minister in Juba, South Sudan.

Meanwhile, the mediation committee and the negotiating parties have  agreed  that the talks  will be indirect during the first weeks of April, due to  spread of  Coronavirus.

Head of the South Sudan Government Mediation Committee, Tut Katalwak Manimi, said that the indirect dialoguehad  started Wednesday.

According to the sources of Darfur 24, the most prominent point that was not agreed upon in the powersharing paper, was the movements ’demand to cancel article 20 of the constitutional document, which prevents the transitional government participants from running in the upcoming elections.

The Darfur  armed struggle movement has demanded that the transitional period is to be four years from the date of the signing of the peace agreement. It also demanded that the current cabinet be reconstituted and 30% of the federal  and state ministries be allocated to Darfur (including two sovereign ministries).
