April 6, 2020 (Zalengie) An armed group has abducted 8 displaced people from Al-Hamidiyacamp in central Darfur on Monday.
The incident took place 20 km from the camp which located in the eastern vicinity of Zalingei town.
The deputy general coordinator of displaced people and refugees, Shafi Abdul Karim told Darfur 24 that the kidnapping of the displaced people took place on Zalingei-Nyala road by gunmen on a vehicle and two motorcycles.
” 8 young men from the camp , went to the collect firewood on Monday morning, while they were working, armed men abducted them at gunpoint and took them to unknown destination.” Said the general coordinator”
Al-Shafie has appealed to the state authorities to track down the perpetrators , arrest them and return the abducted IDPs to their families.
