May 3, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudanese Communist Party (SCP ) has called on the National Umma Party to review its decision concerning freezing of its activities within the forces for freedom and change (FFC), saying that the division of the revolutionary forces helps the remnants of the previous regime and endangers the gains of the revolution.
The National Umma Party, led by Sadiq al-Mahdi, froze its activities within the Alliance of Freedom and Change Forces, protesting the way decisions are taken within the alliance that represents the “political incubator” of the transitional government.
In a statement received by Darfur24, the communist party said “we acknowledge the right of the Umma Party leadership, to take its decisions from its independent position that it deems appropriate, but we see that it is important at this critical time, and the forces of the counter-revolution from the remnants of the former regime, outside and within the state are motivated to strike the people’s gains and restore the wheel of history back, putting the general national concern above All the interests and aspirations of any group”.
The Communist party , stated that the masses of the Umma Party had participated in all the people’s struggles against the dictatorship of the Muslim Brotherhood, made great sacrifices and a group of martyrs, and leaders of the Umma Party met with their pacifiers from other political forces in the meanings of the struggle in prisons, where they exchanged experience and agreed to unify ranks and joint work.
“We in the communist party, warn against consequences of the division among partners of revolutionary forces, which helps enemies of the revolution from the remnants of previous regime implement their agendas, as well as endangering gains of December revolution. The communist party added.
“Correcting government performance in implementing the Declaration of Freedom and Change and contributing diligently to upgrading and abiding by what was stated in the matrix, will help to support the struggle for a full civil authority, and addressing basic tasks in strengthening democratic practice by appointing State s’ governors, alongside forming the Legislative Councils as well as reaching comprehensive peace, achieving justice for the martyrs, and reviewing economic policies” the communist party concluded.
