May 6, 2020 (Nyala) The government of South Darfur State, has deployed military forces on 80 vehicles, and reinforced them with combat aircraft to curb fighting between Fallata and Rizeigat tribes.
At least 8 people were killed as a result of inter-communal fighting between Rizeigat and Fallata tribes in Tulus , South Darfur ,over cattle rustling.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the military governor of South Darfur state, Major General Hashim Khalid Mahmoud, said that the government was able to impose state’s authorities in the areas of fighting between Fallata and Rizeigat tribes.
“Nearly 20 people lost their lives as a result of tribal clashes in the area of khor Shamam in Tulus locality” Said Hashim Khalid .
“We have sent a joint forces of rapid support forces , the army and police, aboard 80 vehicles, and a number of combat jets and gave the planes instructions to deal immediately with any gatherings as a target”. South Darfur Governor added.
