August 12, 2020 (Khartoum) Sudanese Prime Minister, Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk, has  issued four decrees against the background  of the unfortunate incidents  in the city of Port Sudan in the Red Sea State between the Bani Amer and Nuba tribes, in which 25 people were killed and 87 other were wounded

The transitional Prime Minister, engaged, over the past week, in a number of meetings and direct talks with all social and political components and civil leaders of the states of eastern Sudan so as find amicable solution to the tribal fighting between the two tribes.

Hamdouk asked the Central Council for Freedom and Change to participate in developing a vision for a political solution to the crisis, in consultation with the various social components of the state.

Meanwhile, the Red Sea state governor, has imposed curfew in the city of Port Sudan, in a bit to curb the tribal clashes between  the two warring parties..

Hamdouk offered condolences to the grieving families for their great loss, and appealed to all social and civil components of the society in eastern Sudan to adhere to the slogan of the glorious revolution represented in its peacefulness that dazzled the whole world. Hamdouk called on the political forces with a presence in eastern Sudan to assume their responsibility in cooperation with the official bodies to avoid the recurrence of such incident and to maintain security and social peace.

Last January, Port Sudan witnessed t killing of 8 people, and  wounding of 60 others, in bloody incidents, following similar tribal clashes between the two parties.  Nuba is an African tribe whose origins are in South Kordofan region in central Sudan, and its members migrated to Port Sudan decades ago to work in the port, while  Bani Amer is one of the Beja tribes groups, who are the original inhabitants of eastern Sudan. Sudan has been since ancient times, experiencing a tribal conflict, especially between Arab and African tribes, and it has turned into a bloody conflict between the warring parties due to the proliferation of weapons in the hands of citizens.
