August 27, 2020 (Khartoum) Waters of the Nile flooded today, Thursday,
several sites in the capital, Khartoum, after the flood reached a
stage above the predictions of the authorities who are working hard to
prevent the water from flooding the center of Khartoum.

Circulated videos showed  waters of the Nile flowing into the
Al-Fitaihab Grand Tunnel from Al-Muqrin side, amid efforts  by the
Civil Defense, Al-Maga Committees and the citizens of Al-Muqrin are
working hard  to limit its flow.

National Civil Defense Council said that the floods and torrents in
the country, until today, Thursday, had left  86 people  dead, and 44
injured.

Khartoum residents said that water flooded areas in Al-Saliha,
Shaqla, Al-Fitaihab, and other areas in Omdurman, and Al-Shuqilab in
Khartoum, and large parts of the floor of the Council of Ministers
building, and the area surrounding the communication tower.

Ministry of Irrigation warned, in a press release, that there is an
increase in level of water in the coming hours, calling on citizens to
take precautionary measures.
