October 20, 2020 (Special sources revealed to Darfur24 that security authorities had arrested a number of members of the Mahamid tribe due to the failed coup attempt.
Sudanese media reported on Tuesday that the security services had foiled a coup attempt orchestrated by Islamic officers.
Sources told Darfur 24 that the Rapid Support Forces carried out a widespread raids to arrests members of Mahamid clan against the backdrop of that coup attempt. The sources added that among the detainees was Ali Majouk Moamen, a leader in the Awakening Council who is close to Sheikh Musa Hilal and other security leaders.
