January 1, 2021 -The city of Zalingei, capital of Central Darfur, witnessed heavy gunfire in the first hours of the new year’s Eve celebrations.
However, a young man was killed by a stray bullet, causing chaos in the city that resulted in the burning and damaging of Zalingei City Hospital.
An eyewitness told Darfur 24 that a group of youths shot at a young man who was attending a celebration in Al Muhafiz neighborhood, killing him on spot. “The cause of the accident is still mysterious, and the incident resulted in great chaos, heavy gunfire, and major acts of sabotage in the hospital by groups of youths” eyewitness added .
