According to Agence France-Presse, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow, Thursday to discuss the  situation in the Darfur region, western Sudan.

The UN security council meeting comes at the backdrop of the recent tribal violence  between Arab and non-Arab tribes, in  Sudan’s Darfur region  in which more 200 people were killed and hundred others were injured.

However,  Internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Darfur staged demonstrations  last month ,protesting against the exit of the UNAMID mission from Darfur, saying withdrawal of the mission would leave security vacuum and expose the lives of innocent IDPs to imminent attacks by armed militias.
