Darfur 24-Al-Daein

The Rizeigat and Ma’alia tribes in East Darfur have agreed to overcome their difference and defuse tension between members of the two major tribes amicably through negotiations.

The two neighboring tribes who have fought several wars before, have also agreed to resort to talks to settle their agricultural land disputes in the Northern part of Al-Daein.

Al-Khatma and Badi areas in the Abu Karnaka locality, recently witnessed conflicts between members of Ma’alia and Rizeigat tribes , which led to a big gathering of more than 300 people on both sides armed with white weapons in preparation for war.

The acting Nazir of Rizeigat , Saeed Madabo, told Darfur 24 that the relationship between the Rizeigat and Ma’alia tribes had surpassed the state of tension.

“The native administration have selected ten members from both tribes of the Mala’a and Rezeigat to hold a meeting for the sake of finding peaceful solution to their land dispute” Saeed Madibo concluded
