Darfur 24-Nyala

 Joint government forces consisting of police and army have used excessive force to disperse a peaceful sit-in  in  Belil, 15 kms east of Nyala ,the capital of South Darfur state.

 Head of the Beleil sit-in committee, Mohi El-Din Ibrahim, told Darfur 24 that the violent dispersal of the sit-in resulted in the injury of 8 people , including cases described as serious.

He mentioned that the( revolutionary bodies) in the city of Belil organized a peaceful sit-in in front of the local government buildings four days ago  demanding  local government to meet a set of demands, the most prominent of which is the completion of the Nyala-Belil road, provision of two ambulances and firefighters, in addition to cement poles to supply the rest of the city’s neighborhoods with electricity.  In the meantime, a local security committee in Belil announced the imposition of a state of emergency in the city of Beilil from seven in the evening to six in the morning, starting today, Wednesday, and will for a week
