35 people were killed and scores were wounded  in an attack launched by gunmen from the Fallata tribe against Tashaa on Saturday in the Mandowa area 30 km east of the city of Umm Dafouk, along the border with Central African Republic.

 

A Community leader the city of Umm Dafouk, Issa Omar Bishr told Darfur 24 that gunmen from the Fallata tribe launched a surprise attack on the village of Mandwa during a celebration of its residents on the occasion of a social “marriage”, which led to the killing of 25 and wounding more than 27 people from the village’s residents, who are from the Ta’isha tribe.

 

Bashar indicated that the attack appeared to be a revenge  to the attack launched by gunmen from the Taisha tribe last week on the Marmoso area inhabited by the Fallata tribe.
