Darfur 24-Khartoum

A session of joint talks between the Sudanese and Egyptian sides started Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Sudanese side was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, and included the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, while the Egyptian side included the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Sameh Shukri, and the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Mohamed Abdul-Atti, in the presence of members of the two parties.

 The talks deal with the issue of the Renaissance Dam and the ongoing efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries, as well as consultations on various issues of concern to the two countries.  The Egyptian delegation will meet Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, Prime Minister, and Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the Sovereignty Council.
