August 29, 2021 (Khartoum) Sudan’s  Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and  the USAID have   signed a development grant in the amount of $5.58 million to support a smooth democratic transformation and promote comprehensive economic growth in Sudan.

Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Signed on behalf of the Government of Sudan , while Mervyn Ferro, Director of the USAID signed for the US government.

Speaking to reporters after the signing ceremony,  the Minister of Finance said  the agreement mainly targets development and helps to consolidate democracy and tackles the challenges facing the transitional government.

US Chargé d’Affairs in Sudan, Brian Shawkan, said that the agreement is an advanced step for cooperation and partnership between the two sides, noting that the grant supports democratic transformation and development, expressing his thanks for the cooperation between the two countries in the areas of combating terrorism.
