September 5, 2021 (Nyala) The governor of Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi arrived Sunday morning in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur state.
Thousands of citizens of the state had gathered at Nyala International airport and on both sides of the road leading to the airport, since early morning to welcome the newly appointed governor of Darfur region, Arko Minawi.
The government of South Darfur state had issued a decision late Saturday to close the markets and government institutions and gave government employees an official holiday on Sunday.
