Khartoum-Jan.11(Darfur24) The court trying the perpetrators of the 1989 coup adjourned its sitting for two weeks due to the sickness of Hon. Judges Rashid ٌTayib Al-Asmaa .

Hearings for the trial of the ousted President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir and his associates continued  Tuesday at the Institute of Criminal and Legal Sciences building in Khartoum.

Hon,  Al-Jack Sheikh, a high court judge said the decision on the appeals submitted by the defense, in which the court was scheduled to issue a decision, has been postponed to the next session on Monday, the twenty-fifth of January.

For his part, Khaled Ibrahim Ali, a lawyer from the defense committee for the defendants of the Popular Congress, among the accused of plotting a coup, explained that the requests that were postponed to the next court session, include a request submitted by the defense body to exclude the accusation body.

As for the other request, it is related to the release of some of the accused, namely Dr. Ali Al-Hajj Muhammad, the Secretary-General of the Popular Congress, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Senussi and the engineer Omar Abdel-Maarouf
