El-fashir, 23.Jan (Darfur24)The Internally displaced people IDPs  of Zamzam camp, west of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, have decided wrap up  their  four-day open sit-in.

 

Zamzam  IDPs started the protest  on Thursday after six villagers from Saloma village  were killed.

 

The protest organizing committee said it ended the sit-in after realizing that the protest had turned  violent.

 

Darfur24 reporter said protesters attacked cars on the Nyala El-Fasher road, which passes near the camp, in addition to the intention of a number of the protesters to loot a truck coming from El-Fasher belonging to the Rapid Support Forces.

 

The sit-in was scheduled to continue until the federal government responds to the demands of the displaced people in the camps to stop the violations practiced against them by the armed herders.
