Khartoum, May 16(Darfur240 Lawyer Samir Sheikh Idris revealed that the
security services have followed an alternative plan since the 6 April
processions that are completely different from what was followed after
the October 25 coup. Idris said that the authorities of the Khartoum
State Security Committee headed by the governor issued decisions to
arrest and imprison citizens and renew their detention without
judicial procedures.

The prominent lawyer  pointed out that the security services’ previous
plan based on the application of legal procedures by placing detainees
during or after the movement in the guards of police stations, and
writing reports under Articles (69/71) – rioting and breaching public
safety – and releasing them with the normal guarantee until the court
convenes, cases are often written off  , but now  the criminal
procession has changed since last April 6th.

He blamed the State Security Committee and the Public Prosecution for
participating in violating citizens’ rights, and the Public
Prosecution’s failure to play its role in regard to these clear

He noted the Public Prosecution’s knowledge and notification from
many sides of the violations of the executive authority and its
security services in inspecting prisons and releasing detainees
without a crime. The Public Prosecution or any of the Public
Prosecution employees did not address his role in the matter despite
the legal and humanitarian appeals that were submitted to him and it
did not decide on them.

Pointing out that the governor has become the legislative, judicial
and executive authority at the same time, as those arrested have spent
varying periods in prisons
