Khartoum, May 21(Darfur24) The Sudanese Medical committee announced
the death of a martyr in the city of Omdurman, near the Al-Azhari
roundabout and Bait Al-Mal, as a result of being wounded in the chest
and internal bleeding as a result of the security forces’ use of live
bullets, sound bombs and birdshot in the face of local processions in
which a large number of opponents of the military coup participated.
In a statement, the committee revealed a short while ago that 25
protesters were injured, who were taken to the Taqi Specialized
Hospital in the city, indicating that among the injuries, a very
critical ones.
The doctor’s committee noted that the security forces are still using
excessive force against the demonstrators and preventing ambulances
from reaching the injured.
In an urgent statement, the Coordination of the Karari Resistance
Committees in Omdurman called on the citizens to take to the streets
in refusal to use live bullets by the security forces against the
demonstrators, and to ease the pressure on the demonstrators present
in the vicinity of Al-Azhari’s roundabout now.
