Al-Fashqa ,June 27(Darfur24) Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty
Council, Lieutenant-General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, Commander-in-Chief
of the Armed Forces, has arrived at Al-Osra area on the border
between Sudan and Ethiopia, accompanied by a number of Sudanese army
commanders.
Al-Burhan’s visit to the border area comes in the wake of the army’s
issuance of a televised statement accusing the Ethiopian army of
killing 7 soldiers and a Sudanese citizen, and displaying their bodies
to the Ethiopian citizens, according to the statement.
There has been no denial or confirmation from the Ethiopian side so far.
The Sudanese army said in a statement that this treacherous stance
will not go unpunished , and this unacceptable behavior will be
responded at the right time.
Al-Burhan offered condolences to the soldiers and military leaders in
the border area of Al-Fashqa, which has been witnessing tension
between Sudan and Ethiopia for several years, as fierce battles took
place between the two parties, according to which the Sudanese army
was able to recover large areas of agricultural land from the hands of
the Ethiopians.
