Khartoum, July 1 (Darfur24) On Friday, the Emergency Lawyers Committee
revealed the arrest of 150 people, including women, during Thursday’s
demonstrations in the capital, Khartoum.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters  to the street on Thursday morning
e  in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and a number of cities in the
states,  demanding  civilian rule.

The Sudanese authorities cut off the internet and communications in
all parts of the country, prior to the start of the June 30
demonstrations, which are scheduled to head today towards the
presidential palace in Khartoum, before slowly returning to service
after 12 hours.

According to a statement by the human rights body today, the security
forces arrested, on Thursday, at least 150 detainees, including 27
women, in the northern section of Khartoum, where they were subjected
to severe violations by the security forces, and criminal reports were
registered under articles (69, 72, 77). ) of the Criminal Code.
One of the well-known  figures   is the president of the Students’
Association of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Khartoum,
Al-Senussi Mahdi

In addition to the statement, a number of detainees were transferred
to the prisons of Soba and the women’s prison in Omdurman, where the
deportation process took place before the prosecutor in the
department.

The statement clarified the arrest of (11) persons in the Bahri City
Police Department, and emergency lawyers are following the procedures
for their release.

The Committee warned of the consequences of continuing violations by
the Security Committee and the continued legal abuses, and demanded
the Public Prosecution to stop them and work according to the law .

On Thursday, the Central Doctors Committee announced that 9 people had
been shot dead by security forces as a result of dispersing protests
calling for civilian rule in the capital, Khartoum, and the injury of
about 500 people participating in the protests, while a police
statement said 6 people were killed.
