Kadugli, September 22(Darfur24) The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, led by Abdelaziz El-Hilu, announced its acceptance of the mediation of the President of the State of South Sudan, Lieutenant-General Salva Kiir Mayardit, to release 9 shepherds captured by the movement last August when they crossed the movement’s control areas.

 SPLM said  in a statement seen by Dafur 24  that it decided to respond to the mediation of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to release the prisoners, and they will be handed over to the Government of South Sudan in Juba.

 The Federation of Misseriya tribe  said on August 20 that the movement’s forces stole 80 heads of cows, killing two herdsmen and capturing 9 others in the Karkaraya area while following the tracks of the stolen cattle.

 While the  movement says that the prisoners are affiates  of the popular defense forces recognized in the era of the previous regime, which were organized by a decision of the head of the Sovereign Council “Al-Burhan” under the name of the reserve forces, and they were armed with the same armament as the army, and they do not move except under direct orders from the army units .
