Khartoum, January 22(Darfur24)Workers of the Sudan’s  federal ministry of information and culture organized a protest in front of the ministry’s building on Sunday, demanding salary increase as living condition deteriorates and commodity prices soar  .

The protesters demanded sovereignty  council and council ofv ministers to apply the new wage structure and unify the wages of workers in the country, similar to other ministries, as well as implementing the memorandum of demands submitted by workers in the ministry two months .

Mubarak Al -Jamri, a member of the Workers Committee in statements to Darfur 24, said that this stand came as a result of the delay of officials in responding to the memo of the workers, which has been submitted for nearly two months.

Al -Jamri added that in the event that the demands of the employees of the Ministry of Culture and Information do not  mert, all sectors that belong to the Ministry of Culture and Information in Sudan will go on a strike.

A committee consisting of employees of the Ministry of Culture and Information had submitted a memo to the Council of Ministers two months ago, in which it demanded the unification of the wages of workers in state institutions, including the Ministry of Culture and Information.
