Khartoum, May 28 (Darfur 24) Saudi Arabia and the United States of America announced Sunday that the Sudanese army SAF and the Rapid Support Forces RSF had violated the ceasefire agreement, hindering delivery of humanitarian aid and restoration of basic services in the country.

This came in a joint statement issued by Washington and Riyadh on the US embassy page on Facebook..

On May 22 , the truce entered into force between the Sudanese army SAF and the Rapid Support Forces RSF..

According to the statement, after 5 days of the start of the ceasefire agreement, it has been noticed that the two parties to the conflict violated the truce,hindering delivery of humanitarian aid and restoration of basic services..

The statement added” for example: violations of air attack and cases of military aircraft or drones…

Everyday military aircraft belonging to the Sudanese army have carried out attacks during the adding ” including confirmed air raids on May 27 which killed two people, and another air raid that destroyed the Sudanese currency press.

In the contest, the Rapid Support Forces RSF continue to infringe urban areas and occupy civilians homes, private companies, public buildings, in addition to confirmed looting of houses and companies in the area of their jurisdiction..

The statement indicated that both sides have launched attack and transported troops and other items.

 

Ceasing military air raid , withdrawal of RSF from urban areas and ending attacks on humanitarian actors, facilitates delivery of humanitarian aid to the Sudanese people.

The statement urged both parties to extend the current ceasefire to avail time for humanitarian actors to do their vital work..
