A senior official in the Sudanese Foreign Ministry told Darfur 24 that the UAE Foreign Ministry summoned the Sudanese ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Abdul Rahman Sharafi, and informed him that the Sudanese military attaché, his deputy, and the cultural attaché were considered persona non grata in UAE territory.
Sources in the Sudanese Foreign Ministry had earlier told Darfur 24 on the third of this month that it was considering escalation options towards the United Arab Emirates, following a member of the Sovereignty Council; Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta, Slam on the UAE, accusing it of supporting the Rapid Support Forces.
