Port Sudan, April 28( Darfur 24)
Sudan asked the UN Security Council to hold an urgent meeting of the Council to discuss the UAE aggression and hold it legally and criminally responsible for the crimes it commits against the people and the state.

Sudan submitted an official complaint to the UN Security Council against the UAE, related to supplying the Rapid Support Forces with weapons and military equipment and financing fighters, while Abu Dhabi denies these accusations.

Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Al-Harith Idris, said in a letter to the President of the Security Council that the UAE’s support for the Rapid Support militia, which launched war on the state and citizens, makes it an accomplice in all its crimes and atrocities, which entails international responsibility in accordance with the provisions of international law.

He pointed out that the UAE’s aggressive behavior represents a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, the Arab League Charter, and United Nations resolutions regarding the Darfur region.

He stated that the UAE is responsible for Rapid Support attacks on official state institutions and infrastructure, allying with foreign elements to wage war against the state, taking hostages, destroying civilian aircraft, attacking hospitals and health facilities, storming civilian objects, places of worship, and citizens’ homes, looting their property, and stealing private cars and banks.

Al Harith pointed out that the Rapid Support Forces targeted service centers, electricity, water and communications stations, attacked safe cities, looted markets with the aim of paralyzing the economy, and attacked the headquarters of diplomatic missions and United Nations shelter centres.

Idris accused the Rapid Support Forces of arresting 8,000 citizens held in detention and enforced disappearance centers.

The Rapid Support Forces are accused of committing genocide, forced displacement, sexual violence, indiscriminate bombing of civilians, occupying their homes, and plundering their resources.
