Al-Geneina , August 8(Darfur24)The heavy rains witnessed by the Darfur states caused the collapse of the Wadi Bari Bridge linking West Darfur State with other states in the south and west of the region.
West Darfur State is expected to enter complete isolation after the collapse of the Wadi Bari Bridge that connects it with the rest of the Darfur states, and it is expected that the areas that depended on the city of Al-Geneina to obtain food supplies will suffer.
The Commissioner of Humanitarian Aid in Azum Locality in Central Darfur State, Al-Tahir Dahiya, said in statements to “Darfur24” that the heavy rainfall and the torrents rushing through Wadi Bari led to the erosion of the vital bridge from the eastern side.
He pointed out that the rushing water led to the complete separation of the bridge, which is expected to lead to a complete halt in movement, explaining that the bridge has become in the middle of the valley after the erosion of the side bases.
