September 9, Abu Jibeha — On Saturday, the General Intelligence Service arrested activist Ahmed Nasr Al-Tijani in front of a hospital in South Kordofan after he posted an article on his Facebook page, sources told Darfur24.
Nasr was allegedly arrested after he criticized the General Intelligence Service for summoning Dr. Ali Bashir, a the member of the Preparatory Committee of the Doctors Syndicate and the coordinator of the Sudanese Doctors Association in the United States (SAPA). Bashir was told to stop providing support to Abu Jibeha City Hospital.
Nasr was allegedly arrested in front of this hospital. The article had contained criticism for the intelligence service’s interference in SAPA’s work and its attempt to stop support for the hospital.
The authorities did not issue any official clarification regarding the reasons for the arrest or the charges against him.
