January 9, 2025 Khartoum: Darfur24 The Sudanese Army admitted, on Thursday, that the armed men who appeared in a video clip executing a person in civilian clothes were its soldiers, stating that “the one who was killed was one of the rebels,” according to a statement.

The army said in a press release that “some social media sites circulated a video of one of the rebels who was arrested and killed by one of the soldiers.”

The statement explained that this behavior, which it described as “reprehensible,” represents an individual transgression, confirming the arrest of those who committed the crime and will be tried in accordance with the Armed Forces Law.

He added, “We affirm our full and strict adherence to international humanitarian law and the rules of engagement, and all of our personnel who violate the law will be held accountable without mercy.”

Activists on social media circulated a video clip showing a group of armed men in Sudanese Army uniforms assaulting an unarmed man wearing civilian clothes, accusing him of belonging to Rapid Support Forces, before some of them shot him dead instantly.
