January 16, 2025 El-Geneina – Darfur24 On Thursday, former Prime Minister and Head of the Executive Body of the Civil Democratic Forces Coordination “Tagadum,” Abdallah Hamdok, said that the violations and massacres that occurred in El-Gezirah State are “horrific.”

In a tweet on “X” platform, he added that “the Sudanese people have been subjected to these violations for more than three decades.”

Hamdok called on the world to take responsibility for protecting civilians from “terrorist groups that commit the most heinous massacres against our people,” as he described.

He urged the sons and daughters of the Sudanese people not to be swayed by campaigns of racial mobilization, hate speech, and incitement against various social components, noting that these campaigns aim to create more discord among Sudanese people.

Hamdok appealed to peace advocates worldwide to work on bringing the conflicting parties to an immediate halt to this destructive war.

Videos monitored and documented by human rights groups showed human rights violations by the Sudanese Army and its allies, including shocking killings of citizens in Wad-Madani and several Al-Kanabi areas.

The Central Committee of the Kanabi Conference stated that “the severe violations and criminal practices against residents in Al-Kanabi areas in El-Gezirah amount to genocide, crimes against humanity, and ethnic cleansing, threatening the security and safety of the Sudanese community.”

On Wednesday, the Head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, issued a decision to form a committee to investigate the violations that took place in “Kombo Taiba” in El-Gezirah State.

The decision stipulated that the committee’s tasks include collecting evidence and investigating the events that occurred in Kombo in El-Gezirah State from the site of the incidents, obtaining testimonies the events and witnesses.
