Addis Ababa , February 11(Darfur24)
The Sudanese forces rejecting the formation of a parallel government in areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced formation of a new alliance called the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud) according to temporary structures headed by Abdullah Hamdok.
These forces were among the components of the Coordination-body for Democratic Civil Forces Alliance, which was recently dissolved after its division into two parties, one of which sees the necessity of forming a parallel government in areas controlled by RSF to dispute the legitimacy of the army government, while the forces that founded the (Sumoud) Alliance rejected the idea of forming parallel government.
These forces said in a statement that removed the names of the groups and components rejecting the proposal to form parallel government, that they “have organized as of this date under the name of the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Revolutionary Forces (Sumoud).”
The newly established body stressed that the position comes out of belief and commitment to the importance of choosing and committing the democratic civil forces to an independent path that does not side with any of the parties to the conflict or engage in it in any way.”
The statement added that the forces confront any action or statement that threatens the unity of the country and tears its social fabric apart, and that their goal should be to strive tirelessly to protect civilians and confront any violations they are exposed to, address the humanitarian crisis and stop the war urgently through a peaceful political solution that addresses the roots of the crisis in a way that leads to the establishment of the Sudanese state and bringing about sustainable and just peace.”
According to the statement the Civil Democratic Alliance of the Revolutionary Forces “Sumoud” remains committed to the principles and goals agreed upon in the founding conference of Tagaddum.
The statement also referred to the continuation of daily work to ensure the protection of civilians and the cessation of any violations they are exposed to and to work to address the humanitarian crisis and deliver aid to those in need throughout Sudan without conditions or discrimination.
The new body pledged to complete efforts to stop the war by building the broadest civil democratic front for forces that believe in the goals of the December Revolution, achieving comprehensive and permanent peace and establishing democratic civil rule.
The new alliance includes 13 political organizations, headed by the “National Umma Party, the Sudanese National Alliance, the Federal Gathering, the Sudanese Congress, the National Unionist Party, and the Popular Revolutionary Democratic Movement”.
The new coalition also includes 17 components of professionals and unions, 8 components from the resistance committees category, 15 from the civil society category, 5 components from the qualitative categories, represented by Azhari Muhammad Ali, from the creative category, Malik Al-Hassan Abu Rouf – civil administration, Hafez Dosa – business owners, Lieutenant General Majzoub Rahma, the Central High Command of Retired Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Soldiers of the Army, Police and Security (Solidarity), Muhammad Al-Muayyad – persons with disabilities.
