El Daein, March 19(Darfur 24)
In El Daein, the capital of East Darfur State, the dialysis center was reopened within the premises of the teaching hospital after being renovated and rehabilitated in partnership with and with support from the Elite organization.
The El Daein dialysis center was destroyed by a Sudanese military airstrike in August of last year, destroying all dialysis machines.
According to the state’s Ministry of Health, the center was reopened on Tuesday in the presence of the Director of the Executive Administration of the Ministry of Health, Al Azraq Hassan Hamida, and the Director of the Dialysis Center, Dr. Amani Saghiroun.
The center covers the states of Darfur and Kordofan. After being out of service for seven months, a number of patients died.
The center contributes to filling a significant gap for dialysis patients and reducing the cost of treatment outside the state. The center was opened with support and funding from the Elite organization .
