Eyewitnesses who spoke to Darfur 24 said RSF affiliates raided weapons and ammunition-dealing gangs in a peripheral market south of the city on Tuesday as part of a campaign to combat (negative phenomena) following the declaration of a state of emergency.

The witnesses added that while the force was registering and inventorying the gang’s weapons and ammunition, one of the individuals, using a pickup truck, opened fire on the campaign members, killing four RSF members and wounding a legal advisor and another person accompanying the campaign team.

According to witnesses, the campaign members were able to kill five members of the gang.

The head of RSF ‘ civil administration in South Darfur State issued an emergency order last week restricting the movement of citizens after 9 p.m.

The emergency order prohibited the sale of weapons and ammunition, the firing of live ammunition, and the sale of drugs in markets.

Over the past two days, authorities in Nyala launched a campaign to combat negative phenomena following the spread of security chaos in Nyala.
