South Kordofan State authorities announced on Tuesday the suspension of the activities of more than 30 national organization and four international organizations, including the Norwegian Refugee Council, World Vision
This suspension was based on directives from the state’s security committee.
The state’s Humanitarian Aid Commissioner, Fadlallah Abdul Qadir Abu Kandi, issued a decree, seen by Darfur 24, suspending the activities of humanitarian organizations, effective Monday, until further notice.
The decision did not include any explanations for the suspension, nor did it specify an expected date for the resumption of these organizations’ activities in the state, which borders South Sudan.
Kadogli Airport, the state capital, is one of the most important ports of entry for aid supplies announced and agreed upon by the Government of Sudan and the United Nations last year.
Meanwhile, the city of Abu Jubeiha in South Kordofan State received a humanitarian aid convoy provided by the Federal Humanitarian Aid Commission, with support from the Federal Cabinet. The convoy included 12 trucks loaded with 500 tons of flour.
This convoy aims to support citizens affected by the war in several localities in the eastern sector of the state, including Abu Jubeiha, Talodi, Kalugi, Al-Liri, Al-Abbasiya, Taqali, Al-Rashad, and Kartala.
The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in Abu Jubeiha, Abdul Rahim Hassan, stated that the humanitarian gap in these areas remains large, calling for more support and assistance, especially in the areas most affected by the conflict.
