Eyewitnesses and identical sources from Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State, revealed on Tuesday the arrival of a number of prisoners of war( POW) from the battles of Al-Khawi and Al-Debaibat in Kordofan to the city of Nyala, South Darfur.
The witnesses confirmed to Darfur 24 that they saw five combat vehicles and a truck last Saturday, the second day of Eid al-Adha, at the entrance to Rahid al-Bardi, south of the city. Each vehicle carried approximately seven personnel wearing military uniforms similar to those of the Sudanese army.
The witnesses added, “The faces of these personnel were tied with a piece of white cloth.”
In the same context, three identical sources, one of whom is from the Rapid Support Forces, informed Darfur 24 that at least 35 prisoners from the battles of Al-Khawi and Al-Dubaibat, from the army and joint forces, had arrived in Nyala.
The sources reported that the POW were transferred to the Dagris suburb prison, west of Nyala, including officers, without revealing their names or conditions inside the prison.
The Rapid Support Forces had previously transferred a number of prisoners from the Zamzam and ElNuhood camp battles to Dagris prison on the outskirts of Nyala, in addition to transferring a group of detainees from Koria prison to Dagris.
