Al-Mujlad, June 22(Darfur 24)

Eyewitnesses reported on Saturday that Al-Majlad Reference Hospital in West Kordofan State was subjected to an airstrike, resulting in deaths and injuries, including medical personnel and patient.

Eyewitnesses told Darfur 24 that the attack killed a number of civilians, while others sustained varying degrees of injury. Medical personnel were also directly affected by the bombing.

The Emergency Rooms in West Kordofan State said in a statement that an army warplane launched an airstrike on Al-Mujlad Hospital, killing 41 civilians and wounding dozens of patients and their companions.

The room condemned what it described as a “heinous crime” and considered the airstrike a blatant attack on a vital civilian facility that serves as a lifeline for the citizens of West Kordofan State.

It emphasized that targeting hospitals, shelters, and service facilities constitutes a full-fledged war crime.

It called on international and human rights organizations and the United Nations to take urgent action to condemn these violations, hold the perpetrators accountable, and provide protection for civilians and humanitarian infrastructure in Sudan.
