Nairobi, July 25(Darfur 24)

On Friday, identical sources revealed the most prominent candidates for positions in the parallel government, which is expected to be announced within the next two days at least.

The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tassis) plans to announce a parallel government consisting of a 15-member Sovereignty Council, eight of which will be ex officio representatives of Sudan’s regions, seven representatives of political forces, in addition to a prime minister and an executive government.

Identical sources told Darfur 24 that the parties within the Tassir coalition reached a consensus after lengthy consultations, leading to the selection of members of the prospective government and determining the participation rates among the various forces.

They indicated that the Tassir coalition agreed to grant the Rapid Support Forces 47% of the seats in the parallel government, while the SPLM-N received 33%. The remaining seats will be distributed among the coalition forces.

The sources revealed that the ministries of defense, oil, and minerals, as well as other ministries, will be assigned to individuals nominated by the Rapid Support Forces. Meanwhile, the SPLM-N will nominate individuals to fill the positions of minister of foreign affairs, finance, education, agriculture, and federal government.

In early July, the Tassir coalition announced the formation of a 31-member leadership body headed by Rapid Support Forces Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, with Abdel Aziz Adam Al-Hilu chosen as vice president.

The sources reported that they agreed to appoint Rapid Support Forces Commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti. The head of the Presidential Council, Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Forces Alliance (SLA), was appointed as vice president. The council also includes Tahir Hajar, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Forces Alliance, and others.

It was reported that Mohamed Hassan al-Ta’aishi was appointed prime minister, the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Transitional Council, Al-Hadi Idris, as governor of Darfur, the leader of the Free Lions Party, Mabrouk Salim, as governor of the Eastern Region, and the volunteer activist, Faris al-Nour, as governor of Khartoum State.

It was explained that the “Ta’sis” coalition appointed Suleiman Sandal, the leader of the Justice and Equality Movement, as minister of the interior, while the presidency of the Legislative Council was transferred to the National Umma Party, led by Fadlallah Burma Nasser. Ibrahim al-Mirghani, a leader in the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), was nominated as minister of information.

The sources expected the announcement of the Sudan Founding Alliance government within the coming hours, after consultations and consensus were completed among the partners who signed the political charter.

The Rapid Support Forces, the People’s Movement-North, the Sudan Liberation Movement-Transitional Council, and the Sudan Liberation Forces Alliance, along with other political forces and administrations, were represented. Civilians have reached a transitional constitution, after signing a political charter under which the “Tassis” coalition was formed.
