Al Daein, October 2 (Darfur24)
Al Daein Radio in East Darfur State resumed broadcasting on Wednesday after more than two years off the air due to the war.
Radio Director Adam Nair told Darfur24 that preparations had been completed to relaunch shortwave transmissions on 95 FM, starting with a two-hour daily morning broadcast as the first phase, covering Al Daein, the state capital.
He said the daily programs aim to reconnect listeners with local events and activities after a prolonged information blackout.
The station had ceased operations over two years ago due to the war in Sudan, which has caused severe humanitarian, economic, and security disruptions.
East Darfur is currently under the full control of the Rapid Support Forces, which have set up a civilian administration to manage public affairs in the state.
