Kordofan, December 12 (Darfur24)

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have prohibited the use of Starlink satellite internet devices and confiscated them from residents in the city of Al-Nuhud, West Kordofan State, according to local sources.

Sources told Darfur24 that RSF forces launched a confiscation campaign on November 29, seizing Starlink equipment across the city and preventing citizens from operating the devices.

They added that the ban has plunged Al-Nuhud into near-total isolation, cutting residents off from their families and the outside world. “Their devices are kept in RSF vehicles, and sometimes they refuse to provide any internet access to the public,” one source said.

Citizens outside the city told Darfur24 they have lost contact with relatives in Al-Nuhud and have no information about current conditions there.

The RSF has controlled Al-Nuhud since May 2 this year, following the withdrawal of the Sudanese Armed Forces’ 18th Infantry Division.
