The Sudanese Red Crescent Society announced that its   team managed to count 48 dead bodies, admit 55 wounded people to  El-Geneina hospital and transfer 19 others seriously injured to Khartoum. 

It’s worth mentioning that this is the first official statistic of the victims of the bloody incident that occurred in the  displaced camps near El Geneina, West Darfur, following the tribal clashes between the Arab tribes and the non-Arab Masalit tribe. 

The movement of displacement into El-Geneina city has continued for the fifth consecutive day after the gunmen burned three IDP camps of Krinding 1 , Krinding2 and Sultan.

 Meanwhile, the  displaced people have gathered in 13 various locations inside the city of El-Genein taking shelter in  schools, mosques, government institutions, rural court of Sultant . 

A delegation from the Sovereign Council led by Lieutenant-General Muhammad Hamdan and Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk  paid a visit to the burned camps for the displaced people. However, the displaced people lined up a long sides the road linking El Geneina with the Displaced  camps, while the government delegation was walking. 

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society said in a statement received by (Darfur 24) Thursday, that a team of 80 volunteers from its branch in west Darfur   has provided medical aid during the incidents currently taking place in El-Geneina. 

The statement indicated that the team was able to evacuate  55 injured people to Al-Genaina Hospital and 19 critically injured  transferred to Khartoum, meanwhile, 167 injured were treated in the field clinic and  48 bodies were transferred to the morgue. 

According to the statement,  the number of displaced persons is estimated at   8,111 families who fled to the villages of Hashaba, Moleh and Habila, as well as the    displaced camps of krending 1 and Krending2. 

The Secretary General of the Society, Eng. Othman Jaafar, has  instructed his office to dispatch urgent relief aid such as tents, plastic sheeting and First Aid Kids to El-Geneina in West Darfur to deal  with current wave of displacement that triggered by tribal clashes between Arabs and Masalit.
