“Darfur 24” learned from informed sources that the acting governor of West Darfur, Major General Abdel Khaleq Badawi, has been sacked , while Major General Rabie Abdullah  has been appointed as the new governor.

Meanwhile, the sources reported that Major General Rabie Abdullah  surprisingly arrived at the Headquarters of the 15th Infantry Division and  took over the command of the division from Abdul-Khaliq Badawi.

The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereign Council, First Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Hemeti, indicated during his recent  visit to Al-Geneina that administrative measures would soon be taken by Khartoum.

Hemeti also  put the blame of  the latest inter-communal violence  in El Geneina on the state government and its security committee due to their  failure to arrest the perpetrators.

It’s worth noting that the sacking of Abdel-Khaleg was one of the main demands of West Darfur displaced people.
