March 11, 2020 (Khartoum) A tripartite meeting that brought together the Sovereign Council, Council of Ministers and Forces for Freedom and Change, was held at the presidential palace on Tuseday. However, the three parties have agreed to reorganize and establish an internal security apparatus under the command of the Ministry of the Interior.
The spokesman for the Transitional Sovereign Council, Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman, stressed in a press statement after the meeting , the importance of pursuing terrorist elements and controlling the entrances following the assassination attempt on prime minister Abdullah Hamdouk.
Al-Faki underscored that the meeting focussed on precautionary and proactive measures to avoid repeat of what happened, as well as quickly reach the perpetrators, bring them to justice.
Mohamed Al-Faki Suleiman explained that the meeting stressed the importance of maintaining national security and protecting the country from all local, regional and international threats. Meanwhile the meeting affirmed that securing and protecting the leadership of the state is the duty of the security services.
