March 29, 2020 (Elfashir) Bread crisis in the city of El Fasher, North Darfur, has  exacerbated in an unprecedented way, as the price of the loaf jumped to two pounds in various bakeries, while the price on the black market has reached four pounds per loaf.

However, various bakeries are crowded with citizens queuing to get bread, while some bakeries have closed their doors  due to the delay in receiving flour rations from the authorities.

A bakery owner,  called Abdullah Adam, told  Darfur 24 that  the authorities had not given them their rations of flour the previous  night, amatter that led to the exacerbation of the crisis.

“The phenomenon of Queues has become familiar, as citizens line up until midday in order to obtain 20 loaves, we appeal to  the responsible authorities to make a greater effort to provide flour for citizens” concluded Abdullah Adam.
