July 6, 2020 (El-Fashir) One farmer was killed and two others were seriously  injured, when an armed group attacked  Monday, three farmers near the village of Abu Ahmed in the area of Um Saouna on the borders between the states of North and East Darfur.

The incident occurred, after severe disputes broke out between a farmer and a herder, over agricultural land near the town of Umm Sa`ouna, which prompted one of the two people to seek help from his
family.

In a telephonic conversation, a  relative of the deceased, named , Ahmed Abdullah, told Darfur 24 , that six armed herders  came to the farm of the deceased and shot him, where he died in spot.

He mentioned that the gunmen escaped and that they were tracked  by the people of the village and the  police force , where the latter managed to arrest one of the  them  and place him in police custody.

Abdallah added that the government authorities, announced Monday, the complete closure of the Umm Sauna market, in anticipation of tribal violence between the Berti and Bazaa tribes.
