Sudan promulgates  laws
The Sudanese Ministry of Justice has announced an amendment to the
Criminal Law and the Law of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, which
criminalizes female circumcision and gives women the right to
accompany their children while traveling outside Sudan, in addition to
an amendment to the law against information crimes.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the approval of those four laws,
which the President of the Sovereign Council signed yesterday, aims to
achieve the tasks of the transitional period mentioned in Article 8 of
the constitutional document.

The Ministry of Justice described the law “a basic building block for
extending justice in Sudan and for promoting the Sudanese justice
system to meet international judicial standards.
The promulgated law abolishes separate articles in some laws that
“degrade the dignity and of women, such as criminalizing female
circumcision and recognizing the right of women to travel with their
children abroad and other rights,” further stressed the statement.
The consent of the husband or a male guardian was needed before to
allow women to travel abroad or to take her children under the
previous laws.

Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulla Hamdouk, said  that the passing of these
laws will pave the way for the realization of the Revolution motto of
Freedom,(peace and justice) via laws and institutions which guarantee
the rule of law.
In a tweet , Hamadouk , confirmed the continuation of legal reviews
and amendments until all distortions in the country’s legal systems
are removed
