October 9, 2021 (Khartoum) Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today in his office with the head of the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) to discuss the situation in the country and the challenges facing the transitional period.
Volcker said in a press statement that the meeting with the chairman of the Sovereign Council comes within a series of meetings he had with Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk and a number of members of the Sovereignty Council, indicating that he will also be meeting with the forces of freedom and change.
Volker added that all these meetings aim to focus on the objective and real issues facing the transition process in Sudan.
Peretz indicated that his meeting with the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council dealt with the relationship between the civil and military components, as well as the situation in eastern Sudan.
